Initial Telephone Screening

 

15 minutes | No charge

The initial confidential telephone screening is designed to briefly understand the “goodness of fit” between your mental health needs and my practice. During our call, I will answer any questions you have about working collaboratively. In addition, the initial telephone session will provide you a chance to briefly state how I can be helpful to you.

 

Initial Psychiatric Evaluation Televisit

 

50-60 minutes | $375.00**

The psychiatric evaluation is designed to obtain all of the pertinent medical (current medications, chronic diseases, previous psychiatric hospitalizations, etc.) and psychosocial history in order to collaboratively develop a treatment plan. During this visit, I will ask you a set of structured questions. In addition, the session will focus on helping us to refine our treatment plan and goals. As a follow-up to this visit, I may request that you obtain certain routine laboratory tests that will help to ascertain your overall health and implications for psychiatric treatment. The costs associated with laboratory tests can be covered fully or partially through private insurance and are payable directly to the lab collecting the specimens.

 

Medication Initiation and Ongoing Management Televisit

 

20-30 minutes | $200.00**

During a medication management visit, we focus on how well you are responding to prescribed medications. Together, we will evaluate how you feel overall and assess your adherence to treatment as well as any side effects and how best to manage them. Moreover, I will provide an electronic prescription for any refills on psychiatric medications. In addition, routine laboratory tests may be ordered as part of monitoring your care.

 

Ordering and Interpretation of Genetic Testing for Psychiatric Medication Selection Televisit

 

30 minutes | $250.00**

This visit is conducted in two sessions. The first session briefly clarifies the purpose of and procedures used in obtaining a genetic sample for testing. The self-collection procedures are straightforward and painless and can be done at home. A follow-up session will be scheduled to discuss the results of the genetic testing and its implications for psychiatric medication selection and dosing. The above fee is for both sessions. The cost of the actual genetic testing is fully or partially covered by private health insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare, and is payable directly to the laboratory running the test.

 

Animal Support Assessment and Letter Televisit

 

30 minutes | $250.00*

This focused visit is to complete the necessary assessment intended to provide medical necessity for an animal support letter. In addition, the letter is drafted and given to those patients meeting the criteria for animal support.

 

STI Screening, Treatment, PrEP and PEP Initiation and Monitoring Televisit

 

20-30 minutes | $200.00**

Reducing negative sexual and reproductive health outcomes among individuals with mental health challenges is an area of priority for my practice. Patients have the option of requesting routine STI, HIV, and pregnancy testing, and PEP and PrEP services are available to patients with clinical indications. In addition, STIs will be treated remotely through oral medications or referral to an in-person provider depending upon the patient’s preference. The costs associated with laboratory tests can be covered fully or partially through private insurance and are payable directly to the lab collecting the specimens.

*Services are provided “out of network.” Acceptable forms of payment include credit card or cash transfer. Payment is due at the time of service. Superbills can be provided with appropriate coding if requested by the patient for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. 

**The patient is responsible for covering laboratory fees associated with running genetic or routine laboratory tests. In most cases, health insurance can be used to cover all or part of the laboratory costs. Fees for testing are paid directly to the laboratory (not the provider).
